Rare Vintage Strass Collection Swarovski Crystal Trimlite Gold Tiger Paperweight. I started collecting Swarovski crystal (mainly figurines) in the early 1980′s and continued for about 15 years. When I moved in 2000, my collection went into storage and that is where it has been ever since. Unfortunately, I do not foresee ever being in a situation where I can display these wonderful items again. So, it is time to pass them on for someone else to enjoy. I have over 100 Swarovski pieces in y collection and I usually only have time to list a few items a day. So, check back periodically to see any new listings. This is a rare and extremely difficult piece to find. It is from the “Strass Collection” which was a merger between Swarovski and Trimlite and only available in the U. And Canada from 1982 to 1988. The Swarovski crystal paperweight measures approximately 1 7/8″ tall x 2 1/4″ wide. The superbly detailed 24k gold wash tiger sitting on top measures an additional 5/8 tall. Overall, the height is about 2 1/2. I love the way the tiger is draped around the curvature of the crystal. It looks as though it is attempting to crawl up on top to get in a better position to view and pounce upon its prey. The Trimlite hallmark “T” inside a square and “1982″ is stamped on the tiger. Identified as product number 72116, it was retired in 1986. Swarovski Strass crystal is the finest quality crystal available. Strass crystal is manufactured using a precision process which is optically pure which results in superb light refraction. This Austrian producer of crystal is renowned the world over for its breathtaking beauty and beyond-compare craftsmanship. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, flaws or repairs. I always displayed it inside a glass curio cabinet with other Swarovski figurines. It comes in its original box. To my knowledge, there were no certificates, COAs or other paperwork included with The Strass Collection.
