THIS IS THE WORK OF A SUPERB ARTISAN! THE LION CREST DECORATED SHELF DATES TO THE 19TH CENTURY. The shelf is in very fine condition. There are two small rim chips to the front corners of the shelf. The shelf is 6.5 inches tall and the shelf portion is 8 inches by 6 inches deep. This is a superb Black Forest Carving of the highest quality dating to the 19th Century. It is the work of a master carver with superb modeling and details throughout – look at the quality! The plaque is in very fine condition. The tip of one of the outside holders on the basket is chipped. The carving is 10 inches tall and the base is 7 inches wide.
