These Detailed Ceramic Pieces Feature An Adorable Rocking Mama Kangaroo 5 1/2 tall and two Baby Kangaroos. A Baby Kangaroo is know as a’Joey’ and spends about 235 days in the mother’s pouch! The small’Joey’ in the Mama Kangaroo’s pouch is 1″ tall and the’Joey’ with boxing gloves stands 2″ tall. All 3 have wonderfully expressive facial features and beautifully crafted poses. We collected these cute Josef Originals figurines of adorable animals, angels and children during the early and late 1970′s. Muriel Joseph created these charming ceramic pieces starting in 1946 from her Arcadia, California home. When she first started producing ceramic pieces, the name was meant to be’Joseph Originals’ but the printer made a mistake on the first set of labels ordered. As it was too late to reprint the labels, this error gave birth to the name, “Josef Originals”. Muriel Joseph was known for her fine quality & details. In the late 1950′s, fake copies of her pieces from Japan started to appear. Muriel Joseph started to add even more details to her creations but this just made them even more expensive. She then decided to open her own manufacturing plant in Japan. She went to the factory in Japan to personally train the workers to ensure that the quality of her designs remained high. These Darling Josef Originals are in excellent condition with original labels! They have no damage and show little wear.
